  Welcome to the Innovation Index! Each week, I’ll round up links and stories from around the web relating to startups, innovation and entrepreneurship in Iowa’s Creative Corridor and around the state. You can help! Email me news and notes.  News and Notes: Week 1 of the Iowa Startup Accelerator is almost done! The countdown clock is ticking, less than 90 days to the Nov. 6 demo. We’ll be doing a video update with the teams every week, so stay tuned for more. Four out of the 16 participants are women – that’s better than many women in tech stats, but still not 50/50. Aaron Horn, CIO of Radiology Protocols and one of the ISA mentors, published ‘This is why you should be mentoring’ on Medium. The teams will meet with about 100 mentors during the next few weeks. Iowa City-based Telepharm announced a $2.5 million round of funding from some big names in Iowa business: John Pappajohn, venture capitalist and the founder of John Pappajohn entrepreneurial centers around the state, and Bruce Rastetter, president of the Iowa Board of Regents and the CEO of Summit Farms, who has also been involved with other agricultural ventures.
