 Is your favorite book on the list? Let us know in the comments.  Only 10 teams can take part in the inaugural class of the Iowa Startup Accelerator – but we can all read like them. While talking with the Accelerator’s mentors, as part of our collaboration, I had the chance to ask the roster of successful entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders about how they got to where they are today. Most of them learned through hard work and determination, of course, but almost all could point to a book that helped shape their path to success. (A few who declined to answer the question said it was too hard to choose just one.) Loading… Some of the most recommended books were have been standbys for decades (“How to Win Friends and Influence People”) while some are on their way to becoming instant classics (“Delivering Happiness”). But overall, most of the recommendations were unique, spanning from leadership to software development, from fiction to history, from deeply personal to strategic and systemic.
